Day 18: Club

ANNETTE: "Clubs are a huge part of the culture at our school. Every single student belongs to one and only one club."

BRENDA: "Actually, some students belong to more than one club."

CREEDENCE: "And some students don't belong to any club at all. Like Lyle. What's his deal?"

DUSTIN: "Lyle's nonconformism is confusing and gross. Someone should make him join a club like the rest of us."

EOWYN: "Every club has one or more members—except for Voodoo Club, which was banned by the principal, but due to clerical oversight still appears in several official club listings."

FERGUSON: "I am the only member of Board Games Club who is not also a member of Tennis Club."

GRETA: "The members of Puzzle Club have dedicated their lives to revealing what Lyle does while the rest of us are participating in clubs."

HUBBLE: "The first two people to join Puzzle Club after it was founded were the founder's girlfriends."

IVONNE: "Lyle's hobby is something dangerous that he does in the dark. Or, that's what I've heard."

JARLS: "Either both Majda and Eowyn are Puzzle Club members, or both Orson and Greta are Puzzle Club members. But it's not the case that all four of them are Puzzle Club members."

KYLE: "Whenever a club has seven members, Terry joins that club right away."

LYLE: "What I do with my free time is none of your business."

MAJDA: "..."

NEIL: "Annette told me that Quentin is no longer affiliated with Board Game Club. I think it's very important to keep up with the latest news."

ORSON: "Ivonne joined Puzzle Club right before Zheng, but Uma joined a long time before Studs."

PETR: "I am the only member of the Ultimate Frisbee club."

QUENTIN: "Legend has it that if you arrange the members of Puzzle Club in order of seniority, and read the first letter of each of their names, it spells out a word."

ROCHELLE: "Some college admissions offices refuse to accept any applicant whose transcript doesn't list any clubs. Lyle should join one right away, before we graduate, for his future's sake."

STUDS: "At this point, you have read 60% of the Puzzle Club members' yearbook quotes (not counting mine). These are all yearbook quotes, by the way."

TERRY: "Voodoo Club was actually the first club established at our school, long before any of us current students were born. Its original members were Dina Mulberry, Gwendoline Butters, and Cindy Westinghouse. I hear that at class reunions, they all sit at the same little table and don't talk to anyone else."

UMA: "You're telling me that whole paragraph is Terry's yearbook quote? How long is my quote allowed to be? Can I just copy and paste in the lyrics to 'Shoop'?"

VIVIENNE: "I'm actually not a member of any clubs either, but for some reason I don't get any of the negative attention Lyle gets."

WENDY: "The principal banned Orson from starting any more clubs until he finally joins a club that he didn't found himself. I think this ruling is rather arbitrary. I don't respect our principal very much at all. Fortunately, I'm graduating soon, so I won't have to worry about it for much longer."

XENA: "Rochelle is the newest member of Puzzle Club, and is forced to clean out their mascot's cage at every meeting."

YAN: "The principle refused to sanction Polyamory Club, so its three members meet under the auspices of a so-called 'Tennis Club.'"

ZHENG: "Every student at our school either lies or tells the truth. But, actually, there's only one student who lies. All the other students are truthful. The student who lies is... a member of the Puzzle Club."

Have you figured out what Lyle does?

Answer Checker:

Hints: First figure out who all the members of Puzzle Club are. There are enough clues to determine unambiguously who all the members are, but not to establish their order of seniority (unless you count "they spell out a word"). You will have to do some inference. The word their names spell out is not the answer! The answer is a sentence about Lyle. If you know all the Puzzle Club members, but you don't know how to get the answer out of them... ...look at the first letters of their yearbook quotes.
