Each ingredient transforms a word into another word. Sometimes the words are proper nouns, but in my defense, I had to make this in a single day.
- Vanilla deletes all the even-numbered letters from a word (so CRACKLE becomes CAKE and BELMONT becomes BLOT).
- Butter deletes the vowels AEIOU from a word (so DAIRY becomes DRY and MUAYTHAI becomes MYTH).
- Cinnamon adds a suffix to a noun to make it an adjective (so JAPAN becomes JAPANESE and TRICK becomes TRICKY).
- Salt turns a word into its "baby version" (so FLY becomes MAGGOT and COW becomes CALF).
- Lemon adds a T to the front of a word (so WIT becomes TWIT and RICK becomes TRICK).
- Honey adds an A before the last letter of a word (so BLOT becomes BLOAT and OF becomes OAF).
- Coffee reverses a word (so LEE becomes EEL and GOD becomes DOG).
- Milk is the tricky one. It changes L into R, T into F, and Y into N, and vice versa—that is, it swaps left and right, true and false, and yes and no (so COY becomes CON and CALF becomes CART).
Once you know what everything does, you can start applying the answers from the round to this puzzle's "main ingredient," ROOM.
- Cinnamon (CINNABAR) changes ROOM to ROOMY.
- Vanilla (VANITAS) changes ROOMY to ROY.
- Lemon (LEMURE) changes ROY to TROY.
- Butter (BUTTRESS) changes TROY to TRY.
- Honey (HONESTY) changes TRY to TRAY.
- Milk (MILLENNIUM) changes TRAY to the final answer, FLAN.
