Visit Skuga Lake

Good evening. My name is Leah Naidu.

My story, Visit Skuga Lake, takes place in a very interesting world where various types of magic are a part of daily life. This story specifically deals with what they call "totem magic." It works like this:

An eyestone is a gem that provides a certain ability, like talking to animals. But an eyestone only works when set in an amulet representing a certain animal. Each eyestone has different powers in combination with different amulets. Or you might say that each amulet has different powers in combination with different eyestones. Either way, the more of these magic items you have, the more spells you have access to.

(Some abilities, like the power to talk to animals, are constantly active as long as you're wearing the amulet with the right eyestone. Other spells have to be explicitly cast at a target. Usually you do this with the command POINT AT... whatever it is you want to cast a spell on.)

There are a lot of different spells in this story, and there are a lot of puzzles. Most puzzles can be solved in more than one way. Some can even be solved without magic. I don't think you can finish the entire story without using any magic... but I'd be interested to see what the minimum amount of magic items required is, and how many turns it takes to finish the story that way. I'd also like to see the minimum number of turns it takes to finish the game with all the magic items. Or, what's the minimum number of turns it takes to finish the game, irrespective of how many magic items you collect? These are all fascinating considerations.

When the game begins, the viewpoint character is locked in a closet. Let's see what we can do about that...

Or reveal the Table of Contents so you can skip to a different part of the game.
