A thing can be tender or unyielding. The menagerie is a room. The cage is a transparent locked container in the menagerie. "Gilded steel, elegant lock." The cage is unyielding. The angel is a person in the cage. "It's beautiful and metaphorical and poetical and indescribable and trapped." The wings are part of the angel. "Black feathers that have begun to lose their shine, a poem that has begun to lose its rhyme." The heart is part of the angel. "No longer a poem at all." The heart is unyielding. The whispered dream is a tender object. "Hope bound, admidst despair; still, at least, the hope is there." The dream is concealed. The angel is holding the whispered dream. The plain key unlocks the cage. "Real, or a metaphor? You cannot hold it in your mind." The player is holding the plain key. After opening the cage: now the player is holding the dream, now the heart is tender.
