Day 25: Random

This choose-your-own-adventure book comprises three stories: One about finding an Elixir in a castle, a Lost World thing with dinosaurs, and a detective story about trailing a dame. The choices don't tell you which page to turn to, but we can figure out which page numbers they're referring to.

It turns out the dinosaur and detective stories don't have beginnings or successful endings; they just go in loops, with various opportunities to die or get knocked out. The only real beginning and ending belong to the castle story. We have to figure out what chain of pages allows us to complete the castle story successfully:

• Page 6: The beginning of the story. We decide to enter the castle.
• Page 1: We're in the castle's front hall. We decide to visit the wizard.
• Page 14: We meet the wizard, and he gives us a test. We pick the flask on the left.
• Page 20: We pass the test and acquire the Elixir. We decide to return to the front hall.
• Page 1: We're back in the front hall. This time we decide to go to the throne room.
• Page 19: We enter the throne room. We are allowed to pick the option that says we have the Elixir.
• Page 25: We give the king the Elixir and complete the story successfully.

There are 26 pages total, so we can assign each one a letter of the alphabet; if we assign the letters in the usual way, the pages of the correct path spell the answer, FANTASY.
