Day 22: "Vision"

The Metroid Prime games mentioned are first-person affairs where Samus has to worry about using different visors. Each task described can be accomplished using a different one of the seven visors she uses over the course of the series:

• Locate an alarm clock by auditory means with the Echo Visor
• Call in her ship with the Command Visor
• Track ghosts with the X-Ray Visor
• See objects in "transdimensional flux" with the Dark Visor
• Shoot space monsters with the Combat Visor
• Lock on to a heat sigature with the Thermal Visor
• Check a terminal with the Scan Visor

Use the digits of Aran's fee as indices into the name of each visor, and you get the very clever answer, CARROTS.
