This mad scientist wants to know what getting bit by a bunch of different animals will transform you into. All we've figured out so far is that each individual bite should turn you into a real word...

Hints: Each animal's bite transforms a word into another word by some consistent method. Some of the transformations are semantic, and others are phonetic or orthographic. The spider, rat, and duck transformations are based on spelling. The bat transformation is phonetic. The cat and wolf transformations are semantic. I'll explain each of them in that order:

• The spider's bite deletes all the odd-numbered letters. It would change INSECT into NET.
• The rat's bite cuts off the last letter. It would change RATE into RAT.
• The duck's bite adds a C right before the last letter. It would change LIE into LICE.
• The bat's bite devoices the first consonant. It would change BAT into PAT, or VIAL into FILE.
• The cat's bite changes a word into its opposite. It would change CAT into DOG. Not really. You get what I mean.
• The wolf's bite changes the first word of a "X in the Y" phrase into the second word. Like, it would change WOLF into FOLD.
